Mephibosheth was one of the last surviving members of Saul’s family—a man crippled in both feet, calling himself nothing more than “a dead dog.” Yet King David, remembering his covenant with Jonathan, sought him out—not for punishment, but for grace, welcoming him to dine at the king’s table.
