The study was done in the fifties or sixties by sherif a psychologist whose name i never knew how to pronounce, and therefore could never remember his first name. The intervention that seems to be t most effective in a series of studies that were done with this camping paradime is that you tell the boys that they have a common enemy. And then what you find is that people band together. At least in this very, very small sample, the boys put aside their differences, and now they're just trying to defeat the common enemy.
