Lord Dunmore's Proclamation of Freedom

The Virginia Convention quickly drafted a counter proclamation, which reminded the slaves that the punishment for escape would be death. The men who did manage to reach Dunmore joined his Ethiopian regiment. Titus and his comrades wore regimental uniforms and scribed with the words, liberty to slaves. They believed they were not just fighting for their own individual freedom, but for freedom and liberty itself.
