The Night Owl

My dog takes it upon himself to patrol the house at night, going from my bedroom to the front door to the front windows and back. He will literally just stand guard the whole time and he doesn't bark at just anything. On this summer night the breeze was wonderful so I had the windows open. Through the window I see a frizzy, haired older woman just standing in front of my porch. She must have realized that a dog had an open window meant someone was home so she lingered in front of her apartment staring at the front window.
