The Gestapo and Madeline
Noor's luck couldn't last forever. While she'd been darting around Paris on her bicycle, the Gestapo had made a breakthrough. A resistance leader had been betrayed and the Germans had raided his family estate. There they found notes from one of Noor's radio transmissions. Some were signed with her code name, Madeline. The Germans knew that so many British wireless operators had been captured,. That Madeline had to be just one of a few remaining agents in France. Maybe even the last one.
