Is Orleans a New Package or a Service Layer?
Orleans is more of a programming model than it is a service layer like Dapper. With Orleans, you just have a series of new get packages that you reference. There's a lot more to Dapper than just an actor map. In Orleans, a client might be your web API and your web API connects to the cluster as a client or range. Your web API can also be a cluster, a silo and a cluster that's just connected to the cluster. The latter is definitely more performance is what we recommend folks do.
