How I Decided Not to Go Get an MBA
I wanted to get my hands dirty, and of course MBA is required on the job training anyway. I felt I'll get an advanced degree if I find it's going to be useful. But ultimately, it's that it wouldn't have been as useful as the additional years of hands on experience. So in 2004, excuse me, 2002, I launched research affiliates ran both businesses side by side. Very carefully avoiding conflicts of interest. And then 2004, first quadrant was resuming some growth after the bear market and research affiliates was on a roll. It needed my full time attention.
