The 1993 Putney Biennial, I wrote it down. The people who most need and resonate with the concept of identity politics to move through their lives including their artistic lives are those who have been multiply oppressed. People like us who say our identities are important you're basically waving a flag of those people's faces that is average people's faces - present company not included. Most white people are not victims but we do have a substantial right way in this nation as witnessed by the fool who was president. They don't care what he does, they follow him as if he is some kind of a religious figure. He is an archetypal racist.
