What's Difficult?
Technology is a response to a real, to a perceived lackk which is why i think there's no particular technology that's off limits. Technology could be devoted to the perfection of nature and human persistence or it could be based in fear. It depends entirely on the scale of the evil famine strikes. We're not wrong to make things out of fear but we are right to do ther.
