The quality of documentation will determine how fast or how slow it is to figure out how to use your API. It represents what your organization does or how you see yourself as in the marketplace for the digital capabilities that you bring to bear. When I look at an API particularly let's say an enterprise API that spans multiple teams and each development team is designed and built an API for their particular areaI can determine very quickly how much they value the developer's time because I want to see what their error messages are that they return.
