You should absolutely go with your passion. If you're passionate about something, there are other people who will be passionate about that too. And I wouldn't get heavily involved with market research because at the end of the day, you want to build an audience of passionate followers. The only way to do that is if it's connected to your passion otherwise you just won't be able to sell like you need to.
