There's a lot of reference in silicon valley and elsewhere of sort of tracking on science fiction as a source for good ideas uh let's have a tricorder kind of thing you know where's i got him flying cars. There's some hindu stuff there's a beautiful book called the king in the corpse by a guy named zimmer godney years ago. The gods are desperately interested in what these seemingly trivial humans are up to because they live in time and they discover stuff and the gods don't get to do that.
