Historiansplaining: A historian tells you why everything you know is wrong
The World of the Norsemen
The Norse people, it seems, practiced worship and divination in sacred groves. Their entire built world, their homes, barns, bridges, and temples were all built completely from timber. It centers on a tree, namely Ictra-sil, the world tree, the axis of the cosmos.
