Joseph Eric: I am kind of personally convinced of this argument but to me it's under-theorized and what I mean by that is like we don't really have a handle on the mechanism precisely by which this happens. How quickly do the norms adapt to favor impersonal exchange why why would new norms develop at all why not enemy right? Why not a complete breakdown of social order because you you fill out the old norms  what's the reason that new ones would come in and why these particular ones, he asks.
