The Frog's Disobedience
The story is kind of an illustration of the idea that we don't know how much time we're going to have with people, so try to love and understand people while they're still here. Admittedly, the original is a little brutal, and was probably told by the parent because it was the frog's disobedience that directly led to his mother getting stressed out and dying. So he had that extra gilt and clear causal link. It's kind of crushing to think that the mother and son, who would have gotten along together, that died before seeing how much the young frog truly loved her.
