I want to suggest blasting a little bit forward into some mathematical theory that you're probably not going to like. This is Kantorian set theory, and it's one of the most sophisticated ways of understanding what Lacan is doing here. He thought by learning all of this, you could do better for your patients. And let me tell you, those are the ones that went to him. I'm throwing this out just to get a little loose as we approach lunch. But also so that you know that there are some very precise mathematical ways of representing what Lacan was doing.
