Don Regan claimed that Nancy Reagan relied heavily on the advice of an astrologer. Barrett didn't know much about astrology, but it wasn't a foreign concept to most Americans. Astrology had experienced another boom in the 60s and 70s, spurred on by a widespread counter-cultural movement.
