i think it's easy to overstate the way that things have shifted or changed in recent years. I do, however, think that a lot of new technology really does introduce some nificant changes. When you combine a kind of socially shared push toward greater institutionalization and then tack that often strengthens and enables trend, you do get something new. i'm reading de lubac right now, and some of the stuff he's talking about has a ton of overlap with what we're seeing to day.
