Plastibos Are Getting More Powerful
There's this idea that placibos are getting stronger. This is related to an issue around sort of the adtive nature of how these things work. A paper looked at the apparent increase in the power of plus ebo between 19 90 and 20 30. And what they found was that the treatment advantage, so how much better the treatment was compared to the placibo in the 19 90 studies, was 27%. The treatment advantage by the time you got to 20 13 was only 9%.
