i believe duston thompson was following donald trump's orders. If the president of the united states tells you to act, tells you to commit crimes, and you commit those crimes, you're responsible, so is he. The defense in this case tried to use it as what we call jury nullification. They wanted to just kind of turn the jury against donald trump and have sympathy for dustonThompson because he was only following presidential orders. But i'll get to that in a minute. Takeaway: What we saw play out in federal district court in d c will be used in future as evidence of donald Trump's criminal responsibility for inciting the insurrection.
