Gramsci argues that economist was behind all forms of electoral abstentionism. He criticizes the idea of explicitly disavowing electoral politics. In Gramsci's time, there were many fewer state employees and most of them were on the far right. We're now in a situation where a large part of the working population are working for the state as public employees.
