The Evolution of Mites

Recently people have been able to look at the genetics of those two mites. Michael Paula-Pole, researcher, did this work and found that those two mite species diverged from each other 130 million years ago. So they're really not related at all, but they just live in a similar habitat. And so they've evolved similar adaptations for that habitat.
