Title Nine Is a Civil Rights Law
Title nine is civil rights law. It was inserted into a very large education bill. Over the years it has been interpreted to protect many, many different equality assertions. Billy jean king and gloria stanam are two women who exemplified that. They really set a stage for a theme that we didn't know was going to emerge. A lot of the women's movement a has been about women helping women - not just looking to their own place in history or what they were going to achieve for themselves,. but thinking very intentionally about the next generations.
