Skin Conditions and Black Patients - Is This a Problem?
Just three percent of derm tologists are black. Some white dermitologists may have a limited experience with how skin conditions present on darker skin. If patients don't know to look at their palms and soles for antigenous malanoma specifically, they may never say like, this is a problem. I usually spend at least a few minutes of most of my visits unpacking what i would consider medical drama that these patients have experienced.
