The witch trials were an aconomic decision to eliminate older women. Women had children so the children could work, right? That was women's role in society at that time. So those who had ore labor available to them on that land had more profitable land and could pay more taxes. The old ways were still alive and kicking. They held a lot of the history of who we were. And they also probably transitioning from feudalism,. or the way that we existed before in a more communal way, to capitalism.
