Syntax Without Semantics
The idea here is that we can have a syntax without any semantics. You can convey meaning to you in many other ways than merely by articulating a syntactically correct sentence. In many instances though of course the meaning will depend on the structure of the sentence but I think it is useful to understand how they can distinct. It's more directly related to sort of old-side non-prescripted grammar but it's useful in syntax as well.
