The Importance of Expectations in Movies
The movie has tension pretty much from the get go and it just keeps ticking the meter up a little bit. The books will tell you by the 12 minute mark, you need to kick your story off. You need to have this inciting incident that starts kind of the conflict or like you said, the premise delivery. So maybe there's some rules that you can forego because just the general knowledge of the movie,. Like the whole time I was uncomfortable watching this movie, well, all four times I saw it like we know something's going to come.
