How to Self-Soothe as a Teenager
As an adult, you often see that as tied to vanity or consumerism in a bad way. But she was pointing out that it can be very soothing because it's like, you know, I'm a hair twister and I do that to calm down. And then teenagers also talk to their friends often for hours on a daily basis. So if you're feeling detached from your friends, maybe you just need to pick up the phone more or engage more. It is fun to paint your nails a different color and it's a little bit of creativity in everyday life.
