Eric Oliver: I think probably the rational dynamic story Probably isn't the right story, but the kind of this the nearby story which is things are going pretty badly. You know ex-post we can sometimes look back and say oh that was probably a mistake that the voters made in that particular election And it didn't lead to a good outcome, but ex ante Maybe that was a reasonable thing to think on the part of the voters. He says there's something of a bait and switch the populace are doing they're starting with a point But on the back end when they rise to power there's not much evidence that they actually deliver.
