Is There a Need for Skilled Training?
In terms of demographic dividend, the population size that we are talking about because of fertility change is dwarfed in comparison to this underemployed army of women. So bringing them into labor force could make a huge difference to our economic productivity. All of our skilled training for women seems to be around either tailoring or a beautician. And I don't know how many beauty parlors can villages sustain. But along with it, we need a mindset change which says that women can do anything that men can do. Letting them entry into formally male-dominated occupations is definitely needed.
