The Effects of Laser Safety Glasses on Plant Growth
Rod Camimoto visited Interplant's lab in Northern California to see the real plants and learn more about how they work. Unlike sprouts we saw a few moments ago in a petri dish, these are full-sized vegetable plants in containers. We can now tie a specific optical signal the plants make to a specific stress. So if the plant fluoresces green, it has been attacked by a fungus. If it fluoresces yellow, it's been attacked by an insect. A farmer can now know based on data that we collect what problems they have in the field and where.
