The Trend Towards Fewer and Less Experienced Staff in Aged Care Homes
It sounds like the issue is perhaps not with individual homes, but with the-the system as a whole and a lack of resources. So if that is the case, why is it that we're seeing this trend towards having fewer and less experienced staff in aged care homes? And where does that kind of slide begin? The state of play for the aged care at the moment, it goes back to the rewriting of the legislation in 1997. Um, the very next year in 1998, there was another change made to that legislation which removed the requirement for registered nurses to be on site 24-7.
