How to Approach a Shorter Distance Season

Kerry: I think first and foremost, we just have to make sure that Kerry is recovering enough in between seasons. This shorter distance season might be a little stressful for her because she's not used to these speed workouts. So it might be challenging for her, but if it's going well, she runs all these races. Usually she sets several PRs. She's feeling good about herself. We shouldn't discount that. The next thing I would have her do is let's let's take some time off from running. That could be as little as four days. It could be as much as two weeks if the runner is a little bit more mentally burned out from training.
