Is Theology Just One More Voice Competing, You Know, to Hold the Reins of Biblical Interpretation?
Brown: It was sort of controversial because what we're talking about is how to read the Bible rightly. And it was really when I was teaching at the University of Edinburgh that I got pulled in even more to hermeneutical questions. So all of these things put theology on the front burner and so yes it's always been controversial for as long as I've been involved. Brown: As I became a little more mature and confident, I became more and more convinced that Christian theology should be in the driver's seat when we're reading scripture.
