The Shape of Stories: How Myths Move Through Bodies and Worlds

CHAPTER

The Story of Sisyphus

Mythologist joseph sansinesi tells us the origin of the name, sisyphus is anamono poetic. The continual back and forth sucerant sound made by the breath in the nasal passages situates the mythology of sisiphus in a far ger context of archaic trans inducing techniques related to breath control. We are born into this life breathing, and breath defines the life itself. This entire life will be one of rising and falling. It's up to us if the repetative rising and falling and rising again is a sentence or the greatest liberation we can ascribe futility to it - that part is up to us.
