Men of Israel, Men of Promise

In verse 17 Peter says, why do you marvel? He's saying this is what we've been telling you. This Jesus has this power, it's not us. Notice that Peter doesn't say the prophet Jesus or his son Jesus, he says his servant Jesus. It's connecting Jesus to the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. The things that Jesus began to teach Peter and John are continuing that.
