The CF66 Turbofan Is a High Bypass Turbofan
The CF66 is derived from an earlier turbo fan on the C5 Galaxy military cargo aircraft. The centrifugal force here is like 60 tons per blade. Because of all this and because weight is important, you build all this stuff out of titanium. Lockheed tried to make a civilian version of it.
