The Importance of Sophie's Education
Sophie's education doesn't lie to her. In contrast to Emil, she understands that, you know, other people's where do other people's opinions come from? What are they judging you for? Why do those judgments make any internal sense to them? Right. So Sophie is kind of at the end the practical reiteration of Emil, right? And it is less good in the sense that it's less self-consistent, less pure in the sequel. I don't know how much value we ought to give to the sequel, but I talk about it a little bit in my book. It has turned out like education did not really fully fortify her against temptation.
