I'm apparently reading angus rosper's superb biography, opitin which i think everybody sod reader wants a good, good and balanced account of the man. I think that it has now reached a stage where the very existence of russia itself as a major country is threatened. This is a country where more people die each year than are born. Itsis, in many ways, spirate. You get out of the glitter of moscow into the smaller provincial cities, and many of them still devastated by three quarters of a century of communism. And there is no proper industry. The level corruption is astonishing and appalling and makes almost everything impossible.
