If you have a certain amount of dysesthesia as in previous nerve injury, your risk of nerve injury moving forward may be increased. Local anesthetics are neurotoxic by definition. They numb. That's their job. And that can be the second hit that causes a nerve to be injured further. So at the very least, if someone has the pre-existing damage, you want to think about it pretty hard and perhaps that changes your choice of local anesthetic.
