Language-Learning Apps on AI

I think it's different for different people, right? Some native speakers of languages are relatively good at understanding various registers of non-native broken language. And then some are less accustomed to that. I think an app should have certain expectations of that user. We can't reproduce all the sins of Duolingo. That said, back to this kind of question of gamification, I do think users have certain expectations when they come to a new language-learning app. There will be some mix of exercises, closed, multiple-choice comprehension and more dialogue-based interactions.
