Blue Mundia by Mike Johnson

I remember going to Legends in Manchester on sort of a funk night or something. And I could hear all the sub and frequencies that I've never heard before. So when we recorded Blue Mundia, I decided that we'd just create some of that sub bass on the bass drum because it was done using a DMX drum machine. We generated it using a pulse from the bass synth and created a subsonic pulse that went under the bass drum. Mike Johnson was wonderful at running tape loops right around the studio on 10 mic stands and shit like that. He was up for anything, Mike. Especially the pumping of sounds to get great ambiance, which we used in the tiled room
