The Limits of Artificial Intelligence Progress
I think there's a relationship between how discontinuous AI progress is and how large the risk is of self growing your eye. I would say that high level though, yeah, just to sort of pull the different bits apart. It seems reasonable to be pretty skeptical of arguments which predicts entirely unprecedented, crazy things. And in practice, I kind of can describe these like counter arguments are things like this is strong version of instrumental convergence.
