The Principle of Representative Government
A group would be irrational if it changed its mind in the opposite direction to its members. A third is that if the members of the group are unanimous about something then the rule must deem the group to have those preferences as well. The fourth axiom is this. No way of conceiving the will of the people can satisfy all five of them. This strikes at the assumptions behind social choice theory at an arguably even deeper level than theorems of Balinsky and Young.
