Admitting a Patient With a History of Alcohol Use Disorder
Ms. G is a 38-year-old woman with a history of alcohol use disorder and minimal other past medical history. She started feeling poorly recently to the point where she hasn't actually been drinking over the last month or so. Her partner encouraged her to present when he noticed her eyes and skin becoming yellow. John DeS-Fateek, Naja Vamarin has macrocytosis thrombocytopenia, elevated liver chemistries and coagulopathy as well as a UA concerning for urinary tract infection.
