Janny lewis: Whenever there's love, love is absolutely free. And i think the absence of love is death. When i say fierce love, what comes up for you? I think that this thing that black people have been able to do all over the globe. As an african american woman who grew up in this nation, i think about the poet james w. Johnson,. Who says, about my people, we have come over a way that with tears, has been watered. Black history, black heritage, it's everyone's history. These stories belong to all of us.
