As a teacher, i discovered pretty early on that just by noticing the good things that my students were doing, i really didn't have to attend a lot to the bad things they were doing. The more you attend to something from your kid, the more you're going to get of it. So keep it positive. As much as possible, you really want to create opportunities for small winds for your kids and you want to celebrate them. I certainly didn't talk about it first, because, again, this is a curriculum decision. This is about what your teachers are asking of your kids.
