The Kyber crystal explosion was just another extension of Citias' plot line for building the Death Star behind the Republic's back. He feels like maybe in the Bad Batch we had a plot that included a giant Kyber crystal at some point. It doesn't need to be across the whole galaxy. They seem to be kind of here and there, I guess.
