Flight seven, eight zero departed from janda at one 24 a m t c and began climbing to their cruising altitude of 39 thousand feet. The crew noticed some abnormal engine pressure ratial fluctuations on thenumer engine with a range of about plus or minus point zero one five of the e p r target. They discussed setting the engine control to n one mode, which is a way of measuring thrusts based on compressor fan speed. But since the engine control was normal without any other issue, the mainnance engineer advised to continue an e p r mod everything else is normal. So the crew elected to continue to hongkong.
