Is the Summa Written as a Catechism?

I don't think I have any real problems with that. It would be strange to hear a Christian say, well, I want to study theology for the sake of getting to heaven as if it were some sort of extrinsic or merely instrumental thing. The beatific vision or movement towards heaven is to some extent overlapping and to some extent one in the same movement as gaining knowledge about God Or receiving, I guess I'd rather say receiving knowledge about God.
